I finished all the parks in the contiguous US and planned on hitting at least three AK spots (been jealous watching my seasonal friends work there though IG), but have been a bit sick and debilitated for the last few years to do it. Wrangell is highest on the list. Dang. This video is making me want to find a travel buddy and which companies allow gravel travel, to make it happen before the summer ends.

As a mental patient living under the thumb of the PSRB, I can tell you the State of Oregon kills people. Ignorance and pigheadedness can be very dangerous. If you steal a man's home, steal his inheritance, his Constitutional rights, what do you think is going to happen? Let's hope the federal government steps in. Any fool can see where this is headed.

Here is a perk not many will hear about: When you get to the Kuskulana Bridge, stop on the left (wide) shoulder and walk down the short trail/road (4x4 only) down to the foundation of the bridge, scramble up onto the concrete foundation and walk on the catwalk across the entire span. It has railings i.e. you won't fall off, but the catwalk itself is just a steel grate with view right down to the river below. It's a 'must do'.

Over the past several years, an ongoing landslide has intermittently closed part of the Denali Park Road, requiring a massive effort by the National Park Service to keep the area safely maintained for visitors and staff. In the summer of 2024, construction will continue on a bridge bypassing the landslide. During construction, visitors will have access to the first 43 scenic miles of the park road and lodges in Kantishna will operate as fly-in only lodges.

I was a cook at the Fairbanks Princess Hotel. Susan and her husband David would come to our Sunday brunch every two weeks. I ran the omelette station. They always came to me and watched me make their omelett every time they came in. David returned to my station one Sunday and said that Susan wanted a second omelett. She said that were the best she ever ate. They became my friends. Susan was a sweetheart. Your basic down to earth lady.

Dozens of dogs are left alone on snow and ice, tied to plastic bins without proper housing. The appearance of her shivering because she could not stand the harsh cold of Alaska, and the appearance of digging out her eyes as if she had not been supplied with proper water and feed appear one after another. Some dogs are so severely injured that they can't even stand properly, but even if the paw pads are worn out and the wound gets worse, no treatment is given. These dogs are 'sled dogs' that are mobilized for dog sledding tourism and Alaska's 'Iditarod' race. 'Idita Road' is a popular sport in Alaska where people and dogs team up to pull a sled and run more than 1600 km. Also, at this facility, ordinary people can experience sledding pulled by dogs. Where is the end to your greed and cruelty, dog owners who ignore the pain of sled dogs who are miserably used ???
